In the past 11 years, GIRA Global has had the privilege of working with exceptional partners and programs worldwide. From our on the ground teaching programs in Kyrgyzstan to our full international MUN conference in China, we are always looking for new ways to explore and further our mission.
In 2018, GIRA partnered for the first time with All-American Model UN in hosting the NATO Security Simulation in Warsaw, Poland. The program, staffed by three Georgetown students, allowed students to navigate the dangerous diplomatic waters of the world’s most extensive collective security organization. Students attended from across the continent for a successful inaugural year in the dynamic setting of the Polish capital.
For the past 7 years, GIRA Global has been sending top Georgetown students to teach at Alpha Partner's Educations' Pegasus Programs, which teach English public speaking, International Affairs topics, and MUN Rules and procedure to Chinese middle and high school students. This year, GIRA looks forward to the second year of NAIMUN China, a full-scale international MUN Conference held in conjunction with Alpha Partners to allow increased accessibility to our high caliber simulations.
Following its start as a GIRA Global Grant project, GIRA returned to Kyrgyzstan in 2018 to host an expanded series of workshops and a one day conference. Working with 150 students across 7 schools, GIRA volunteers worked in the capital, Bishkek, as well as outside in the towns of Talas, Kant, and Shabdan. The final conference, hosted by the Bilimkana Foundation, a GIRA partner, in Bishkek, was a resounding success which GIRA Global hopes to replicate in the future.
